About Trifork Digital Health & Trifork Health Platform

At Trifork, we develop digital solutions that support and improve healthcare delivery. Our Digital Health area focuses on building scalable, interoperable platforms that connect healthcare providers, systems, and patients.

The Trifork Health Platform (THP) is a modular, FHIR-native platform designed to support secure data exchange, interoperability, and scalable application development. It enables healthcare organisations and partners to build solutions on top of a robust and future-proof foundation.

As an intern on the Trifork Health Platform Team, you’ll work at the intersection of cloud engineering, healthcare interoperability (HL7 FHIR), and software development, gaining hands-on experience while helping to shape solutions that matter to millions of patients and professionals.

What you'll do

As an intern on the Trifork Health Platform team, you will contribute to a range of activities across development, integration, and collaboration. Your responsibilities may include:

Development and learning

  • Gaining hands-on experience with modern software development, cloud technologies, and APIs

  • Working with technologies such as Kubernetes, containerisation, and FHIR-based data models

  • Participating in team planning, design sessions, and agile development processes

Product and feature development

  • Supporting the development of new features and tooling for client applications and backend services

  • Contributing to documentation, testing, and continuous improvements

  • Assisting in delivering user-focused enhancements across the platform

Healthcare integration and collaboration

  • Collaborating with engineers and architects to build integrations between the platform and external healthcare systems

  • Supporting efforts to improve interoperability, data quality, security, and workflows

Who are you?

We are looking for a student in the later part of their studies (e.g. 5th semester or similar) with a strong interest in technology and its real-world impact.

You are motivated by using technology to create meaningful solutions and have a curiosity for healthcare data, interoperability standards such as HL7 FHIR, and cloud-native systems. You have experience with at least one programming language (e.g. Kotlin, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript or similar) and are eager to further develop your skills within software development and cloud technologies.

You enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment and are comfortable contributing in agile processes. You communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you are open to feedback and continuous learning.

What You’ll Gain

  •  Real industry experience building mission-critical healthcare solutions

  • Mentorship from senior engineers and opportunities to attend tech workshops or conferences

  • Insight into digital health ecosystems and interoperability standards

  • A chance to contribute to software used by clinicians and patients across the healthcare sector

What we offer

  • A structured onboarding with a mentor programme and continuous sparring with experienced colleagues

  • An annual strategy trip focused on team building and company culture

  • Biannual Hacker Days where we explore new technologies and ideas

  • Agile teams with a strong focus on close collaboration with clients

  • An active social environment with CrossFit on Tuesdays, running club on Mondays, paddle on Fridays, and social activities throughout the year

  • A central office location in Aarhus

  • A high-quality lunch scheme, great coffee, snacks, cake, and Friday bar

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you, we encourage you to apply now and become part of our Digital Health team.

Since our founding in 1996, we have been motivated by pushing the boundaries of how new technologies and methods can be discovered, applied and developed into novel solutions that enable our customers to become industry leaders.
