iOS Lead Developer and Project Lead Aviation

We are looking for a specialist iOS Lead Developer and Project Lead Aviation to join our dynamic team in Zürich and help us spread our solutions and extend our position in the Swiss market.

This role involves technical and organizational leadership of large-scale software initiatives, particularly for clients in the aviation sector.

Responsibilities include initiating and managing complex software projects, spearheading innovative mobile iOS and VR/AR solutions by coordinating with customers, UI/UX designers, developers and other stakeholders. The role also supports additional enterprise projects across industries such as industrial technology and telecommunications.

The position applies agile methodologies to manage distributed development teams and acts as the main point of contact between clients and internal teams. It includes managing code repositories, overseeing test and production releases, and distributing mobile builds, including uploads to app stores.

Client communication is a key aspect of the role, with regular direct collaboration with client-side project managers and development teams — both on-site and internationally. In urgent situations, the role also serves as the first point of contact outside regular working hours, ensuring smooth delivery and high client satisfaction.

About you

You are a technically adept and solution-driven professional with more than 10 years of hands-on experience delivering large-scale mobile iOS projects in the aviation sector. You combine strong project leadership with a deep understanding of software development processes, user experience design, architecture and agile team leadership. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy direct collaboration with clients, and take ownership of projects from concept to deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of major digital initiatives for the aviation industry and other clients

• Coordinate with customers and UI/UX designers to ensure high-quality, user-centric interfaces

• Apply agile methodologies to manage distributed international development teams

• Act as the main point of contact for client-side project managers and internal stakeholders

• Oversee code repositories, testing workflows, and the release process

• Manage the distribution of builds to clients and app stores with precision

• Provide responsive support during critical project phases

• Conduct on-site visits to support testing and maintain strong client relationships

Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of the aviation sector

• At least 5 years of proven experience managing complex mobile projects in the aviation sector

• More than 10 years of experience in mobile iOS application development

• Strong technical foundation in mobile iOS digital product development and deployment including Objective-C, Cocoa, Swift, SwiftUI and C#

• Experience with Apple Vision Pro, Unity, large language model APIs and CI/CD pipelines a strong plus

• Experience with 3D modeling software, 3D model optimization for VR/AR use cases

• Skilled in agile project management and cross-functional team coordination

• Experience working directly with enterprise clients and design partners

• Proficient in release management, testing, and mobile build distribution

• High level of reliability, independence, and customer-oriented thinking

• High fluency in English (C2 level), German and other languages a plus
