Strategic Adviser

Senior advisory role in new international advisory team focusing on large and mid-market enterprises across industries

Full-time · Schindellegi, Switzerland

About the position

Are you ready to work on the highest level with strategy - and in small team where radical candor and no-nonsense attitudes are the very foundation?

We are looking for an experienced and energetic strategic adviser, who can support our customers in unfolding their strategy - from setting direction to executing in the detail. You can think connected, strategically, and independently - and you have a certain aversion towards corporate lingo (which means you frowned reading the word ‘unfolding’ in the previous sentence).

However, you are also a realist and and can work from the starting point of our global enterprise customers, where corporate lingo, non-value add processes, and internal politics can be part of the organizational culture. You understand that they need to make a change from where they stand - and you can support C-level and the board on that journey. Our customers are international and we expect you to be close to our customers on a frequent basis. Expect and embrace frequent traveling primarily within Europe.

We provide a position in a international executive environment at the frontline of tech innovation - with significant freedom to define everything from approaches, storytelling, and engagement models - and of course your own day to day focus. In our team we are all seasoned executives who daily challenge the way we think and interact and we expect you to do the same.

We believe companies hunger for new approaches to strategy consulting

Your qualifications & experience

  • We want you to bring the following to the role:

  • Min. 5 years experience as team lead in a technical organization preferably within software development. You know first hand the joy and pain of people leadership and have been fighting for high team motivation, effectiveness, and elimination of hurdles for your team - hence you know how things work (or don't!) at the frontline of an organization

  • Min. 3 years of experience with strategy work on C-/board level - strategy process and strategy execution both. This can be in an executive role in-house or as external adviser

  • On par with top executives in your thinking and communication. Comfortable and natural in your interaction with executives, whether as a group or 1-1.

  • Technical background/deep understanding of technology from a ‘doers’ stand-point. You may have coded until recently (or still do in your spare time) - and at least you having been advising within the realm of IT architecture, data, and AI. You are not a sucker for technology sweet talk - also not on our customers’ behalf

  • Great communication skills both verbally and in writing. You present ideas clearly and confidently through any media: presentations, meetings in person and virtually, on conference stages, and at customer events

  • Excellent English language skills – written and spoken. Danish and/or German skills are an added bonus

  • High integrity and a finely tuned radar, which intuitively sense how other people tick

  • Experience leading diverse teams - especially culturally and cognitively diverse.

  • Swiss work permit

Your personal traits

  • You are a sucker for continuous personal improvement on all levels (why stagnate when you can level up?)

  • You are highly resilient – you bounce back from set-backs and learn from failures

  • You possess a sense of humour, spark in the eye, and a general good mood - because we are also here to have fun.

  • You are aware of your blind spots - and possess an attitude of respect and interest towards colleagues’ and customers’ diverse expertise

What we offer you

This role is to a large extend one you can shape yourself – and for the right person the role holds strong growth potential both on the professional and personal level.

You may see it as a stepping stone to ‘the other side’ og the tech ecosystem or a re-entry into a field of passion. In any case – you will need to maximize on what you have already learnt as a leader.

In addition, we offer:

  • Amazing, experienced colleagues who are down-to-earth, direct, ambitious, and sharp as razors (if we may say so ourselves)

  • The opportunity to work with and significantly influence global enterprises and industry leaders on the highest decision-maker level

  • A culture of exploration and breaking the mould on how consulting is normally done.

  • Significant influence on the direction of strategic advisory at Trifork globally

  • Maximum freedom. Fully flexible work arrangements in a high trust environment (working from home/in the office/on the road, flexible hours)
